Help the Southfield A’s Claim a Home Field Advantage
Support Local Youth Baseball and the Community
After years of not having a field to call home, constantly needing to search for fields to practice and play on, and having nowhere to host visiting teams, The Southfield A’s finally have a place to call home: The Athletic – Home of the A’s.
Unfortunately, the new field has not been used or maintained for more than two years, so there’s much work to be done before the first pitch can be thrown.
The costs associated with needed clean-up and maintenance total $50,000.00
We need your help!
This opportunity is a fantastic way for our community to show support for local youth baseball players who deserve a playing field they and the community can be proud of.
Your support ensures you’re part of The Athletic’s story and future.

About Southfield Athletics
Southfield Athletics travel baseball is a nonprofit community-based travel baseball program.
Since 2004, the organization has provided an affordable opportunity for players who want to be involved with baseball at a travel league level, something essential for players aspiring to play baseball in high school and beyond.
Baseball has long been known as the great American pastime. If you were fortunate to grow up at the baseball field like many kids, you already know there’s just something about a baseball field that other sports fields don’t offer.
The camaraderie and sense of community a home field brings.
The overwhelming sense of pride felt seeing players lined up for the national anthem.
The delicious guilty pleasure of a concession stand hot dog and soda.
The feeling you get seeing the home team celebrating a win.
Your support will directly benefit our players and improve the community we all share.
With your help, we could have The Athletic ready for practices by April 1, 2023, and game day ready by May 15, 2023. Because the field has not been used or maintained for over two years, there are areas that need to be addressed.
Field maintenance equipment was neglected and needs to be replaced, existing buildings require safety inspection, and of course, infield maintenance is long overdue.
Fortunately, we have secured someone to manage the field, and a local family will operate the concession stand on-site once games begin. We have worked with the existing property owner on managing the landscaping
Anticipated Expenses total $50,000
Field & Maintenance Costs $17k | Game Equipment(bases, balls, etc.) $2k | Field Maintenance Equipment $4k | Fieldhouse Repair & Maintenance $12k | Field Supplies(sand, chalk, etc.) $6k | New Uniforms $9k |
Our goal is to have the new playing field ready for practices by April 1, 2023, and games by May 15, 2023.
The new field is located at location, and the intent is that it will serve multiple age groups once repairs and maintenance are addressed. Our ultimate goal is to provide a space that enhances the playing experience for our kids, improves the visitor and spectator experience, and creates an atmosphere that fosters positive family memories. The Athletic will include all the amenities needed for a top-notch home field.

We hope you’re as excited about this opportunity as we are. A contribution of any amount would mean the world to our league, community, and, most importantly, our kids.
